From My Bookshelf to Yours: The Story and 2026 Ambitions of A Book For

Painting session

Born out of a deep love for books, A Book For aims to bring reading back to life, away from pressure, elitism, and guilt-driven narratives. Online, I tried many things: makeup tutorials, lifestyle tips… areas I enjoyed but eventually left behind. Why? Because deep down, I wasn’t truly passionate. A Book For was born where passion genuinely existed: in my love for reading. I grew up in a home where my parents firmly believed in “no phone before the baccalaureate.” So I had to find other ways to escape, to dream, to grow. And so, I read. Again and again. Everywhere, all the time. Books became my companions, my windows into other worlds.

Today, it is this deep and long-standing love that gives life to A Book For. More than a media platform, it is the culmination of a long relationship between words and myself—and the beginning of a new chapter that I can’t wait to write with you. And that new chapter has a name: 2026. After sharing where I come from, I now want to share where we are going. Here are the projects that will shape the heart of A Book For this year.

Our Vision

A Book For is a cultural project dedicated to reading as a living, personal, and collective experience. We believe that reading is not an intellectual performance nor an elitist marker, but a space of freedom. Reading can be slow, fragmented, intuitive. It can begin with an emotion, an image, a sentence, or a memory. Our vision is to restore reading to an accessible, demystified, and deeply human place by building bridges between books, personal experiences, and contemporary realities.

Our Mission

The mission of A Book For is to promote reading but to do so differently.

Rather than simply repeating the already well-documented benefits of reading, we aim to offer a strategic, inclusive approach adapted to today’s realities. Our work is grounded in a strong belief: there is no single “right” way to read, nor a single entry point into books.

To reflect this diversity of reading experiences, A Book For has developed a structured strategy built around three complementary pillars.

1. Supporting Those Who Love Reading but Struggle with Consistency

This first pillar targets people who enjoy reading but find it difficult to maintain a regular habit due to lack of time, fatigue, digital distractions, or loss of motivation. A Book For offers:

  • Simple, flexible reading routines

  • practical tips and suggestions for pressure-free reading

  • Accessible activities and challenges designed to reintegrate reading into daily life

The goal is to remove guilt and show that reading regularly doesn’t mean reading for long periods or consuming large quantities of books.

2. Valuing “Non-Standard” Reading Practices

The second pillar focuses on readers whose habits are often stereotyped or undervalued: comics, manga, graphic novels, fanfiction, and more. Rather than dismissing these forms of reading, A Book For recognizes them as legitimate entry points. Starting from existing tastes, the project aims to :

  • legitimize these reading practices

  • build bridges toward more diverse or deeper reading experiences

  • gradually expand literary horizons, without pressure or imposed expectations

3. Reaching Those Who Don’t Read—or Think They Don’t Like Reading

The third pillar addresses people who don’t read or who don’t identify with traditional reading. The approach here is to shift the entry point :

  • proposing themes aligned with their personal interests

  • using alternative formats, particularly audiobooks

  • showing that reading can take many forms and evolve over time

The objective is not to convince at all costs, but to gently reconnect people with the idea of books.

Our Approach

A Book For adopts a sensitive and participatory approach to reading.

  • Accessible editorial content : reviews, recommendations, and reflections on books, always using clear and relatable language

  • A book club : both online and in person, designed as a free space for discussion where everyone can share their feelings without pressure

  • An emotional approach to reading: starting from feelings, memories, or questions rather than academic analysis

  • A thoughtful digital presence: using social media as bridges to books, not as an end in itself

Planning and Goals for 2026

The year 2026 marks a phase of structuring and expansion for A Book For.

Key objectives

  • Strengthen the project’s editorial identity

  • Establish a consistent publishing rhythm

  • Develop the book club through themed discussions

  • Collaborate with cultural actors, authors, bookstores, and literary initiatives

Planned actions

  • Official launch of the online book club

  • Introduction of reading cycles (by theme, genre, or territory)

  • Organization of literary events (online or in person)

  • Development of cultural partnerships

  • And many surprises

A Project in Motion

A Book For is not a fixed project. It is a space in progress, shaped by shared conversations, collective reading experiences, and individual journeys. Born from a personal story, it is designed as a collective adventure, an invitation to read differently, together, and to make reading a space for connection, reflection, and joy.

The next chapter starts now.
